All The Fixin's

All The Fixin's Plaque, ceramic, 2021

My solo thesis exhibition, All the Fixin’s, took place at the end of 2021 from December 2nd to December 9th. It was held on the campus of the Columbus College of Art and Design at Acock Gallery. All The Fixin's was a playful transformation of my Southern identity into a mixed media art installation. Pulling from a nostalgic landscape of family dinners, fishing trips, and quilting traditions, I created connections between my adult self and my Texan roots. The show exhibited a combination of reclaimed images and materials, such as old t-shirts and cowboy hats, which allowed old memories to transform into intimate artworks. In doing so, I created a space for my familial history of farming and fiber work to transform from things of the past to traditions of the present.
